PlantCare (https://plantcare.dotiam.com) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it and your rights. Short version: we collect very little data, we don't sell it, and we don't store your plant photos or personal information.

1. What Data We Collect

Data We DO Collect:

• Usage data: Page views, tool usage, browser type and general location (country/city) — collected anonymously via Google Analytics for improving our tools.
• Contact form data: Name and email when you use our contact form — used only to respond to your query.
• Images for AI tools: Photos you upload to Plant Identifier, Pest Identifier etc. — processed by Groq AI API and NOT stored on our servers.

Data We DO NOT Collect:

• No account registration — no username, password or email stored
• No payment data — PlantCare is completely free
• No personal plant data — Growth Journal, Care Reminders and Seed Tracker data stays ONLY in your browser's localStorage
• No uploaded photos are stored after AI processing

2. Cookies & Local Storage

• Google Analytics cookies: Used for anonymous usage statistics. You can opt out using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
• Google AdSense cookies: Used to show relevant advertisements. These are third-party cookies managed by Google.
• localStorage (no cookies): Plant Growth Journal, Care Reminders and Seed Tracker use your browser's localStorage to save your data. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers.

3. Third-Party Services

• Groq AI API: Powers our AI identification and guidance tools. Images and text are sent to Groq for processing. Groq's privacy policy applies: groq.com/privacy-policy
• Google Analytics: Anonymous usage tracking. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
• Google AdSense: Display advertising. May use cookies to show relevant ads.
• Google Fonts: Web fonts loaded from Google servers. Google's font privacy policy applies.
• Unsplash: Blog featured images served from Unsplash CDN.

4. Advertising

PlantCare uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. These ads help keep PlantCare free for everyone. Ads may be personalized based on your browsing history using cookies. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads.

PlantCare does not allow advertisers to pay to promote specific products in our tool results or content. Our tool recommendations and AI results are independent of advertisers.

5. Your Rights

• You can clear your localStorage data at any time through your browser settings — this will delete all your Journal, Reminder and Tracker data.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of PlantCare after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
