💧 Rose Care — India Specific
- October pruning — India's most important rose date: Prune roses October 10–25 for spectacular winter blooming in November–January. Cut stems to 45° angle just above outward-facing bud at 40–50% height. This single annual pruning determines the entire winter bloom season quality.
- Never wet the leaves: Rose leaves are highly susceptible to fungal diseases (black spot, powdery mildew) when wet. Always water at the base — never overhead spray. Morning watering only so any splashed leaves dry quickly.
- Deadheading for continuous flowering: Remove spent blooms by cutting just above the first 5-leaflet leaf. This prevents seed formation and diverts energy to new flower bud development — extending the bloom season significantly.
